Link Wray

It was just announced that Link Wray - the legendary surf guitar player - has passed away on November 5.

His official website:

http://www.linkwraylegend.com/

Back in 1999 I used "Rumble" for the soundtrack of Rocking, not a very original choice but one of the finest surf tracks I have heard. I've had the chance to catch another surf legend, Dick Dale, performing live and Robert Gordon, with whom Wray recorded a couple of great records in the 70's, but missed out on Wray's shows when he came to play in New York. It seems to me that not enough news outlets are paying tribute to his legend and legacy. But I would like to. May he rest in peace.

Baby in the Rain is Live!

I am extremely pleased to announce that the music video I made with Adam Lewensohn for Shy Nobleman's 'Baby in the Rain' is finally online! After months of wait, the album is finally coming out this week and with it the video will start showing up online and on Israeli television.

Don't hesitate to write your thoughts.

Watch It!

The new album, 'Beautiful Life' will be out in Israel at the end of the week and out internationally a couple of weeks from now. CDBaby will be carrying copies... It's hard to try and top his first album but I truly believe that this one does it. 60's Power-Pop with 70's British Rock influences, at times it's on the verge of Psych. The title track is my personal favorite.

Also check Shy's websites:

If you are in Israel, order the disc through Musicaneto

If you are around New York or Chicago in December than look out for the Independent Music Video Festival screening series which features us.

Updates Galore

It's been a while... I'll try to make up for it...

I updated the 'Heavy Soul' website with a number of new additions. In addition to the video clips it now features a full synopsis, soundtrack information and an image gallery. I am also planning to offer free copies via mail in the near future so keep updated as I'm hoping to have more info of the release in the next couple of weeks.

In other 'Heavy Soul' news: The Miami Short Film Festival, which was schedules to screen the film last week and got postponed after hurricane Wilma hit Florida is now scheduled for Nov. 21-26. I'll keep the site updated with the latest info about the screening.

'Baby in the Rain' is finally coming out. After months of expectation. Next week Shy Nobleman is supposed to release his new album, 'Beautiful Life' and with it the music video will be released online, in various TV channels in Israel and will be viewable on the CD itself. So next week it is.

And just because I feel like it... if you are a Hebrew reader than check out this series of articles I recentley wrote for the Israeli website, Shox, focusing on legendary porn stars: Seka, Jamie Gillis, Ginger Lynn, Eric Edwards, Veronica Hart.

In addition, if you are an Israelite and own cables (HOT) - Be sure to flip to the new Entertainment Channel.
