Blank City ends with Jim Jarmusch’s optimistic statement: “Forget about the past and bring the future.” But the presiding hipster culture is so immersed in consumerism, fashion, and presentation, it’s devoid of any content or originality. Blank City reminds us that Punk effectively ended when it became a fashion statement…
